Reporting a scam

The journal cannot investigate cases or recover money. Report fraud here:

• England, Wales and Northern Ireland: Report Fraud, at reportfraud.police.uk or 0300 123 2040.
• Scotland: Police Scotland on 101.
• United States: the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center at ic3.gov and the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov.

Contact your bank straight away if you have sent money. Be wary of anyone who offers to recover lost funds for a fee; this is a common second scam.
